# Manta Squad NFTs

A fun collection of 3,000 unique profile-picture NFTs that were launched on 10-Nov-2023 on the [Stargaze](https://www.stargaze.zone/m/manta-squad/) NFT marketplace. The project was a partnership with the [Shrimp Club](https://twitter.com/ShrimpClubNFT), lead by [Duarte](https://twitter.com/0xBrooken) and the amazing artist [Lower Lows](https://twitter.com/lower_lows), the team behind the Kujira-notorious Shrimp Gang collection. Each piece was minted for 20 USK, with 40% going to the artists and 60% going to MantaDAO treasury. The collection fully sold out in under an hour, and resulted in $34.2k raised for the DAO (net of Stargaze’s 5% fee). This amount is expected to be doubled by MantaDAO (subject to Stargaze governance proposal being voted by the community) and paired with $68.4k worth of STARS provided by Stargaze Community Pool as described in this [proposal](https://commonwealth.im/stargaze/discussion/13859-sustainable-liquidity-building-proposal-for-starsusk-on-kujira), resulting in $136.8k of STARS/USK liquidity, half owned by Stargaze Community Fund and half by MantaDAO.

All royalties (2.5%) from secondary NFTs trading are currently fully kept by MantaDAO. A gamified competition system that will be open to all holders of a Squad (i.e. a minimum of 5 Manta Squad NFTs) is in the [works](https://mantaswap.app/league) and will allow participants to periodically win cash prizes.
